Hey, I´m Alexandra

For the past fifteen years I have been passionate about designing book covers and book layouts. I studied graphic design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach Germany. I moved with my family to Iceland in 2005, where after two years working in an advertising agency I started my job as an inhouse graphic designer for Forlagið Publishing House in Reykjavík. Since then my love for books has just grown.

In recent years I´ve been a jury member for the Stiftung Buchkunst in Leipzig, the ADC E Europe in Barcelona and FÍT in Reykjavík.

Some book covers that I have designed have been awarded as best book covers by the Icelandic newspapers, among them are Blóðberg (2020), CoDex 1962 (2016), Mánastein (2013) and Illska (2012).

Flóra Íslands received the Icelandic Literature Award, The Icelandic Booksellers Award and a recognition from FÍT (the Icelandic Graphic Design Association) for best book design in 2018.
